This project initially set out to develop multi-user virtual environment software for 3D architectural design collaboration, deploying a ‘sticky note comments’ database storing designer and project stakeholders’ design review comments. Through user centred development with our end user architect collaborators, the team soon realised that many architects demanded 2D as well as 3D, and a web based tool which could work for many contexts, connecting designers, clients and end users could find a valuable role in the project design lifecycle. Accordingly, StickyWorld was born as a project review and exhibition platform. The project ran October 2008 to March 2010 and culminated in the beta launch of StickyWorld celebrated at the collaboration cafĂ© in the Building Centre in March 2010. Led by Slider Studio in collaboration with Edward Cullinan Architects, HTA, Make, Scott Brownrigg and UEL, the project was part funded by the Technology Strategy Board as part of the digital tools for the creative industries call.
