EcoLogic Studio asked us to automate the process of mapping data from an environmental analysis software package to a three-dimensional grid. The prototype, reading information from Excel and Rhino, enables feedback between geometrical and performance data, and forms the first step in the bigger goal of inserting environmental analysis seamlessly into the design process. Feeding analytical data back to the form generation process allows the designer to find the balance between a building’s environmental performance and appearance.
