In 2008 Slider entered an open international ideas competition for Copenhagen’s north harbour. Looking to set a benchmark for modern sustainable cities, there were 180 entries received from around the globe. Collaborating with mæ architects and WSP we effectively controlled the floor area ratio and typologies of new buildings by developing a computational design application based on our existing SiteCapacity™ software that helped the team prepare a large information rich model of the whole development. Subsequently the team was awarded a commendation for their proposal, which once fully developed, is estimated to contain 4 million sq m of new buildings, 40.000 inhabitants and provide 40.000 jobs.
