Earlier this year, Slider’s digital media team was approached by collaboration software start up oneDrum to develop a 40 second animation for its innovative collaboration software to co-oincide with their launch at The Next Web conference in Amsterdam. oneDrum is a networked application that transforms everyday Word, Excel and Powerpoint files into powerful real time collaboration applications with contextual communication embedded in the file. oneDrum appointed Slider to develop the script, graphics, animations and voice over for the animation, designed with an American audience in mind. The team is currently working on a range of other animations and short movies for clients and welcomes new commissions.
Animating collaboration
June 10th, 2011Cloud based Case Management for Treethorpe
June 6th, 2011Slider’s software team has developed a case management business application for Treethorpe Discovery Agents. A rapidly growing business, Treethorpe is a network of researchers, family historians, genealogists, lawyers and other professionals who are engaged in the task of identifying forgotten and unclaimed assets. Treethorpe’s management approached Slider with a request for software which could help streamline their processes, better connect the team and also provide a client facing portal. Slider accordingly designed and developed an appropriate enterprise software, working in close collaboration with the client and delivering a bespoke and scalable web based application, hosted in the cloud, and operating to exacting standards.
Web Platform for Neighbourhood Planning
May 31st, 2011Slider Studio is working on the development of a new digital service for local authorities to help them meet the support requirements of the neighbourhood planning process. Described in the localism bill currently passing through parliament, Neighbourhood Planning puts control back into the hands of the community, enabling them to plan for growth and development in their area.
Collaborating with StickyWorld Ltd, and part funded by the Technology Strategy Board, Slider will be running afternoon workshops in Birmingham on 4th and 11th of July at the offices of MADE, and in London on 15th of July. The workshops invite community leaders, planners and local authority representatives, and other expert consultants to help define the optimum digital service and validate our assumptions of the potential for digital tools. Attendees will get a good overview of existing relevant tools and services from the vast array already available on the web, as well as an insight into what may be on the horizon.
The workshops are free so if you are interested please visit (Birmingham) youcanplan.eventbrite.com or (London) londonyoucanplan.eventbrite.com to register your place.
The current intention is to integrate StickyWorld’s existing design review software as a service into a customised web application that is configured to exactly suit the requirements of the localism bill, along with other design and 3D visualisation tools like YouCanPlan as relevant options. We have also recognised that there are many other third party tools and services available already, including physical and digital tools which could help the whole process, so we are interested in how we can work with suppliers of these tools and services to integrate them into our proposed new service.
